In occasion of the CFDA Fashion Awards’ 52nd edition, the non-profit organization presided by fashion designer Diane Von Furstenberg has struck a partnership with social network Instagram to launch the Fashion Instagrammer of the Year Award: a brand new digital contest that wants to reward the most interesting  Instagram accounts, both from a fashion and a lifestyle point of view.

The ceremony – which every year honours the best of american fashion by celebrating the most prestigious fashion designers of ready-to-wear for men, women but also accessories – wants to highlight the increasing influence social media is having on the fashion world.

Eight anonymous Instagrammers have been selected by a prestigious and competent jury, which has based the choice on different criteria such as originality, eclectic style and account mood. However, only one will be be crowned winner and will then have the chance to attend the ceremony, due to take place next June 2, 2014 at the Lincoln Center in New York.
