LOTUS: TWO WHEELS AND A LEGEND

Elegant and sinuous, more akin to an old-fashioned perception of beauty rather than to an exasperated modernism,  theC-01 is the first motorbike ever produced by Lotus.

With its refined and sensual shapes – that remind those old-days motorbikes driven by iconic rider Robert Munro at Bonneville Speedway’s salt lake –  the Lotus C-01 can easily be defined as a one-of-a-kind bike whose production will be limited to 100 pieces. Three the liveries available:  green-yellow as an homage to the Lotus brand, black-gold as  Lotus F1and Martini white with its iconic red, cyan and blue stripes.

Here is how star designer Daniel Simondescribes the C-01, whose planning and and development involved two years of hard work: “The design process of the C-01 was a labour of love – there were many challenges – ensuring that the bike not only touches your visual senses with its timeless blend of classic appeal and modern execution, but that is safe and ergonomically sound was critical to me. We have worked hard to create a motorcycle with very distinctive features such as a clean main body, an extremely low side profile, a bold stance, a unique air intake, logical partline solutions and clean graphics.”

Its distinctive body integrates carbon fibre, titanium and aerospace quality steel,  the engine is a 1195cc V-twin from KTM’s RC8R superbike with a claimed 200bhp and dry weight of 180kg.

Commenting on the C-01, Güther Holzer(CEO of Holzer Group) said: “I was one of the first people to ride it and I have to say I was very impressed. Together we have found that delicate balance between raw, aggressive power and breathtaking handling. The team has created something very special, it looks incredible, it sounds fantastic but above all, the ride is sensational. I’m very happy.”

You can admire the C-01 in all its beauty in our gallery, if you’re contemplating the idea of purchasing this remarkable ride, you better hurry up, we are pretty sure it won’t be long before the 100 available pieces will be sold out.
