Worlds in Milan at MUDEC
The Museum of culture is the exhibition space opened inside a former Ansaldo industrial complex, dedicated to research, documentation, and popularization of the creative and artistic activity of people from every continent. Mondi a Milano, from March 27 until July 19 2015, is one of the two official opening exhibition to inaugurate the museum, together with Africa.
Protagonist of the exhibition is the city Milan, center of polarization of different non-European cultures with its most relevant exhibitions and events: from the late-19th century industrial art shows, inspired by the Universal Fairs, to the decorative art exhibitions on which the renowned Triennials were based on, thus establishing a connection with the upcoming EXPO Milan 2015.
The exhibition – promoted by the City of Milan and 24 ORE Cultura – will be the occasion to see the reconstruction of architectural and environmental projects; objects, artifacts, paintings, graphics, popular prints, manifestos, photographs combinations. The visitors will be brought back in time and driven to a further reflection on the ideological implication of the great international Expositions and how different cultures influenced Italian society.
